The Nail That Held It All

Apr 5, 2026    Pastor Scotty Lolley

This powerful message invites us to contemplate the profound significance of the nails that held Christ to the cross, revealing them as far more than instruments of suffering. We discover that those three nails represent heaven's intentional algorithm for our redemption, a divine plan established before humanity ever fell into sin. Drawing from Colossians 2:14, we learn that when Jesus was nailed to the cross, everything against us was nailed there too: our sin, shame, past failures, and every accusation. The three days Jesus spent in the tomb weren't empty silence but divine completion, fulfilling prophecy and validating His promise. When He rose on that third day, He proved the nail held, the cross worked, and our connection to heaven was fully restored. Yet the challenging question remains: if the connection has been restored, why do so many of us still live as though it's broken? This isn't a message of condemnation but of invitation. Heaven is calling us back, not to expose our failures but to restore our relationship. We're reminded that we haven't gone too far, we're not too broken, and we're just one response away from full restoration. The cross wasn't a random act of cruelty but a calculated expression of unconditional love that transformed what was meant to destroy us into the very thing that saves us.
